1. Who we are

This website, digestivecentre.com.sg, is operated by Digestive Centre Pte. Ltd., a private specialist clinic at 3 Mount Elizabeth, #12-14 Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, Singapore 228510. Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at info@digestivecentre.com.sg or +65 6737 5388.

This policy covers the website and the enquiries you send us through it. Your clinical records, test results and treatment notes are kept in the clinic’s own patient record systems, under Singapore’s medical record requirements and the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). Ask our staff at the clinic if you have questions about those records.

2. What data we collect

  • Contact form: your name, phone number, email address, the subject you choose and your message. The form is sent to the clinic by email.
  • WhatsApp, phone and email: when you contact us through the WhatsApp button, the phone number or the email address on this site, we receive your number or address and what you tell us.
  • Technical data: like every website, our server and the services in front of it record the IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use this to build profiles of visitors.

We do not ask for your NRIC or passport number, bank details, or health information through this website. If you choose to describe your symptoms in a message to us, we treat that message as confidential and use it only to prepare for your consultation.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you, when you fill in the contact form, message us on WhatsApp, call us or email us. Automatically, in the server and security logs described in section 2, and through the Google reCAPTCHA check on our contact form, which looks at how the form is used to tell people from spam robots.

4. Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange, confirm or change an appointment.
  • To prepare for your consultation when you have told us about your condition.
  • To keep the website secure and available.
  • To meet our legal obligations as a medical practice in Singapore.

We do not use your data for marketing unless you ask us to keep you informed, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers that run this website and our communications, and only for those purposes:

  • Google: our email runs on Google Workspace, so form submissions and emails to the clinic pass through Google’s mail servers. The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to block spam, and the site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; both receive your IP address when a page loads. The Clinic Locations page loads Google Maps to show our locations, and its directions links open Google Maps on Google’s own site.
  • Meta (WhatsApp): if you message us on WhatsApp, the conversation is handled by WhatsApp under Meta’s own privacy terms.
  • Cloudflare: the site is delivered through Cloudflare’s network, which filters attacks and caches pages; Cloudflare sees the IP address of every request.
  • Our web hosting provider: the website is hosted on servers located in Singapore, maintained by our website developer, Amadeo Consulting Pte. Ltd., for the clinic.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We will disclose personal data where the law requires it, for example to a regulator or a court in Singapore.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Browsing this website sets no cookies of our own. Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our contact form, may set its own cookie to tell people from automated traffic. You can manage or delete cookies in your browser settings: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge.

We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this website. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request not to sell or share your personal data, which we do not do in any case.

7. International transfers

Our servers are in Singapore. The service providers named in section 5 may process data outside Singapore (Google, Meta and Cloudflare operate worldwide). Where personal data leaves Singapore, the PDPA requires us to make sure it receives a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, and we rely on those providers’ contractual data protection commitments for that.

8. Your rights

If you are in Singapore

Under the PDPA you can ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you and how we have used or disclosed it in the past year, ask us to correct an error or omission, and withdraw any consent you have given, with reasonable notice. Write to info@digestivecentre.com.sg. We respond to access requests within 30 calendar days; if we need longer, we tell you within that time when you can expect our reply. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Personal Data Protection Commission at pdpc.gov.sg.

If you are in California

The California Consumer Privacy Act gives California residents the right to know what personal information a business collects and how it is used, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, the right to opt out of its sale or sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information. To make a request, email info@digestivecentre.com.sg; we respond within 45 days and tell you if we need an extension.

If you are in another US state with a comprehensive privacy law

You have broadly similar rights of access, correction, deletion and portability, and the right to opt out of sale, targeted advertising and profiling. Use the same email address; we honour these requests whichever state you are in.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom

This website is intended for patients in Singapore. If you contact us from the EEA or the UK, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to its processing and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We rely on your consent and on our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry as the legal basis for processing it.

9. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or as long as the law requires, and no longer. Enquiries that do not lead to an appointment are deleted once they are no longer needed to answer you. Records of patients are kept for the period Singapore’s medical record rules require, then securely disposed of.

10. Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them through it. Appointments for a child are made by a parent or guardian.

11. Security

The website is served over HTTPS only, so everything you type into the contact form is encrypted on its way to us. The server sits behind Cloudflare, which filters malicious traffic before it reaches the site, and it is backed up daily. WhatsApp messages are encrypted end to end by WhatsApp. Within the clinic, your enquiries are read only by the staff who handle appointments.

12. Automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

13. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page. The current version is always the one published here.
